Doctoral Student
Tianyi (Amanda) Liu is a PhD student with the Institute of Medical Science. Her research focuses on uncovering and understanding genetics and neurology underlying the causal mechanism for bipolar disorder.
Before beginning her PhD, Amanda earned a BSc in Biology and Computer Science from McGill University and an MPH in Biostatistics from Columbia University. She also spent two years as a research assistant at the Center for Statistical Genetics at Columbia University, where she worked with large-scale genetic data and public databases like the UK Biobank.
Amanda is passionate about mental health research and is committed to employing a biopsychosocial approach to better understand mental health disorders.
